About the Position: Position serves as a Clinical Psychologist services children from birth to twenty-one years in connection with the Educational Developmental and Intervention Services (EDIS) Program, U.S. Naval Hospital, Okinawa, Japan This is a Direct Hire Solicitation This is an open continuous announcement.   • Execute a full range of clinical psychological diagnostic, strategies, procedures, consultation services to eligible children from birth to twenty-one years for the Educational and Developmental Intervention Services (EDIS).
  • Assist as a consultant and authoritative resource expert to the EDIS interdisciplinary evaluation team.
  • Provide consultation to medical, clinical providers and school personnel on complex pediatric Behavioral health cases.
  • Carry out psychological assessments of children referred from the Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA) case study committee.
  • Determine appropriate psychological tests and clinical interviews to evaluate and diagnose severe, chronic childhood psychological disorders.
  • Perform diagnostic interviews, integrates interview information with psycho-diagnostic test data to establish and fortify psychological diagnoses in accordance with criteria set down in the current edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual.

Basic Requirements for Clinical Psychologist: Degree: Successful completion of a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. Licensure: This position requires a current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing psychological assessments to children from birth to twenty-one years, applying clinical psychology techniques to analyze, interpret, identify behaviors exhibited in social settings, performing psycho-diagnostic tests to analyze, interpret, identify behavioral disorders, and providing consultation services to children and adolescents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 and above).
