Job title: Heavy Duty Field Technician Construction & Forestry Division Hourly rate: 50-54$/hr Permanent role 3 weeks vacation Benefits from day 1 Location: Grande Prairie, AB Keywords: #heavydutytech #heavyduty.technician #fieldtechnican Role Overview Belcan Inc. is seeking an experienced off road Heavy Duty Field Technician to support Construction & Forestry customers in Central and Northern Alberta, specifically the Red Deer and Grande Prairie/Clairmont areas. This field-based role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and customer service. Key Responsibilities * Perform field repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics on construction and forestry equipment * Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, engine, powertrain, and drivetrain systems * Service equipment from major OEMs (e.g., John Deere, Hitachi, Komatsu, CAT-equivalent systems) * Work independently at customer sites while adhering to safety and quality standards * Communicate effectively with customers and internal service teams * Complete service documentation, inspections, and work orders accurately Required Qualifications * Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician / Red Seal (RSE) required - off road * Proven field service experience with construction and/or forestry equipment * Strong technical background in hydraulics, engines, transmissions, and electrical systems * Willing and able to travel to customer sites within the Red Deer and Grande Prairie/Clairmont regions * Valid driver"s license and clean driving record * Self-motivated, dependable, and customer-focused Preferred Experience * Prior field-based technician experience (vs. shop-only) * OEM experience with construction or forestry equipment * Comfortable working independently in remote or rural environments
