Opportunities In The Painters & Allied Trades
The Painters and Allied Trades Union represents members in the finishing trades across Central and Northeast Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia region, New Jersey, and Delaware.
Commercial Painters transform surfaces into art; apply decorative and protective coatings; develop skills in stenciling and faux finishes.
Envision transforming plain surfaces into extraordinary ones. As a professional commercial painter, you will be responsible for applying a wide range of decorative and protective coatings to various structures, including homes, offices, institutions, and other buildings.
Once you have finished your training, you will have the expertise to skillfully apply paint, high-performance coatings, and unique decorative finishes to virtually any surface. Moreover, you will have the chance to develop your skills in stenciling, gold leafing, and faux finishes, allowing you to create beautiful and lasting works of art that will be appreciated for many years to come.
Drywall Finishers (also known as a taper), you will be responsible for preparing unfinished interior gypsum drywall panels by expertly taping and finishing joints and concealing flaws, drywall finishers ensure that surfaces are primed and ready for painting.
Glaziers and glass workers (also known as architectural glass and metal technicians) work with one of the most fascinating, versatile materials of all - glass.
An IUPAT Glazing Apprenticeship will teach you to master glass selection, handling, cutting, installation, and replacement. Gain commercial expertise in storefronts, curtain walls, room dividers, and security windows. Enhance residences with energy-efficient window glass, mirrors, shower doors, tabletops, and display cases.
As a glass expert, you'll install intricate retail displays, skyline-altering high-rise curtain walls, and more.
Industrial Painters apply coatings to surfaces in various industries, ensuring protection and a quality finish.
Illuminate structures with your expertise as an industrial painter. Protect bridges, ships, and more from corrosion, extending their lifespan. Learn state-of-the-art coating techniques and environmentally friendly practices.
Specialized safety training ensures confidence in working at heights and enclosed spaces.
