Lead Porter (Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm)


Set Pay Rate: $18.90 per hour 

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm 

Job Summary:
The Lead Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in Child Development Centers. This role provides hospital-grade cleaning services, responds to special cleaning requests, and interacts professionally with staff, children, families, and government personnel.

Essential Functions:

  • Clean and disinfect classrooms, restrooms, kitchens, break rooms, and common areas 
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize floors and surfaces
  • Clean windows, mirrors, furniture, toys, and child activity equipment
  • Restock restroom supplies and remove trash
  • Respond to special cleaning requests and emergencies as needed
  • Operate floor care equipment and perform routine floor maintenance
  • Safely use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Assist with inventory, special event setup, and other custodial duties
  • Report maintenance issues and follow all safety, security, and contract requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred 
  • Six months of custodial experience preferred, ideally in a child care or healthcare setting
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. as needed
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work independently
  • Strong customer service skills and attention to detail
