Electrical Aprpenticeship NECA-IBEW LOCAL 176 Joliet, IL accepting applications


You may fill out an application at our Apprenticeship office on Mondays only during regular business hours:

8:00 am until 11:30 am & 1:00 pm- 4:00 pm

Extended hours are on the second Monday of every month, until 5:00 pm. If a major holiday falls on a Monday, applications will be taken on that Tuesday.

Please call the office if you have questions on if we are open. 
 

At the time of application, you must have in hand:

  1. A good copy of the front of your valid driver’s license
  2. A copy of your birth certificate.
  3. A $25 Money Order- Made out to “JATC” This will be a non-refundable processing fee.

                           






Requirements

In order to qualify for our programs, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 18 years of age (Applicants who are 17 years of age may apply provided he or she will be 18 years of age prior to being registered by the JATC)
    • High school seniors may apply but must submit a letter, at the time of applying, from their High School counselor or Dean stating they are on track to graduate and include transcripts to date and their graduation date.
  • Be an accredited high school graduate or have taken and passed a GED test.
  • Have two semesters of Algebra (high school or college) with a minimum grade of “C” in each semester.
  • Be a resident of the jurisdiction of Local #176 (Will, Grundy, Kankakee, Bureau, LaSalle, Iroquois, Ford, Stark, Putnam, Henry, DuPage, Kane and Kendall counties.)
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
  • If selected, there will be a pre-employment physical with a possible fee.
  • Be willing to participate in our Drug Free Alliance, submit to testing prior to entering the program, hair follicle and urine sample.
