Continuity Plans and Policy Specialist

This assignment is a 1-year non-reimbursable assignment. Office of the Secretary Continuity Plans and Policy Specialist Series Requested: 0089; 0080, 0343 Security Clearance: None Virtual/Remote: No Only current, full-time federal employees are eligible. Resumes are reviewed every 30 days until selection/closing date. This is a Detail, not a Developmental Rotation. Supervisory approval form must be signed.


This DHS Joint Duty Program assignment supports the development of a comprehensive continuity evaluation program for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Specifically, this position will revise and develop continuity-related documents; research and interpret continuity-related plans, policies and directives; and brief personnel on continuity-related documents and activities. Specific duties include: - Developing (or participating in the development of DHS and national level continuity documents (e.g. Federal Continuity Directives). - Developing continuity-related brochures and templates for use by DHS components, staff, and leadership. - Participating in, or conducting, Business Process Analyses and Business Impact Analyses at the component and headquarters levels. - Developing and delivering briefings to internal and external continuity stakeholders.


Requirements

Qualifications required: Developing, coordinating, and reviewing continuity and/or emergency management-related policies and plans; Researching and interpreting continuity and/or emergency management-related policies and directives, and briefing internal and external to an organization. Experience in public policy and/or continuity is desired. Preparing for and participating in executive level exercises or supporting executive level response to real-world incidents; Ability to analyze information or complex operational challenges and providing recommendations to mitigate risk through plans and policy updates Providing oral and written briefings to senior leadership or key stakeholders on program status or operational readiness; Knowledge of planning process and essential records; Ability to develop reports in collaboration with Department of Homeland Security Components, and other partners as necessary; Above average skills in Microsoft products, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
